Santa Scramble - 3rd December, 2016

Seventy-two golf enthusiasts resplendent in Santa Hats and Christmas themed outfits, took part in the annual Santa Scramble at Mullet Bay Golf course on Saturday, 3rd December. Made up of 18, four player teams, the 18 hole stroke play event marks the end of the St. Maarten Golf Association's golfing calendar and is an opportunity for all members to have some fun and socialise on and off the course with golfers from both Dutch and French associations at the post tournament after-party.

The team of Odom, McCauley, Snyder and Rubano were the 2016 Santa Scramble winners with a total score of 55 low net. In second place was the team of van der Waart, van Iersel, Da Costa and Carter. Third place went to team Struthers, Heilmann, De la Salle and Carter. Although second and third winners both scored a 60 low net, van der Waart and his team had a higher handicap.

An after party was held at Bar Code in Cupecoy during which awards were also presented to the 2016 winners of the Overall Monthly Medal plays and to the finalists of the 2016 Club Championship (Thomas Smith Challenge Cup). This year, Jesus Rivera was Club Champion and Keith Graham was runner up.
