Santa Scramble - December 2023
It was a great sight on Saturday 9th December 2023 on the Mullet Bay Golf Course with 68 golfers scattered over the course in
decorated carts, wearing Santa hats and dressed in colorful Christmas themed outfits. Nonetheless the colorful participants made a serious effort to win.
The annual Santa Scramble organized by the St. Maarten Golf Association was again a tremendous success. This charity event was
enjoyed by a good number of 17 teams made up of four players per team. After a fierce battle and lots of fun the winning team was that of James Park, Arhan Baharani, Adine Lanneluc and Alcea Boudou – who ended the 18 holes stroke play event with a total score of 59 low net and included Junior golfers.
Second prize was won by the team of Herve Thibaudeau, Britta Devaux, Jenny Marzi and Teva Marzi – with a total score of 61.
Third prize was won by the team of Marci McCormick, Justen Barrett, Johathan Schaede and Bradley Spernak – with a score of 61 low net also but they had a lower average handicap.
After the tournament, all players gathered at La Tortuga Restaurant in Maho, where the awards ceremony and raffle as well as auction was held. The St. Maarten Golf Association used this opportunity to thank all the sponsors from the St Maarten Open Golf Tournament and the Santa Scramble Tournament, as proceeds are generated to give out annual donations.
This year’s recipients were:
